Overview
At BNP Paribas we are committed to the ongoing development of our employees.
As part of this focus on development, we
• Provide all employees with access to training that is relevant to their role and encourage them to participate in a variety of programs and activities
• Encourage and support employees to apply newly acquired skills in their work
• Encourage employees to be innovative in their work and continually seek new and better ways of working
Individual development plans
Training and development needs are identified as part of the annual appraisal process, where each individual creates a development plan in conjunction with their manager. This plan covers both professional and technical development, and focuses on skills required for the employee’s current role and business objectives, as well as skill development for promotional opportunities. This plan can be reviewed and amended during the year if business needs or role requirements change.
Training and development opportunities
The organisation supports a variety of development opportunities which include
• Business orientation
• Technical development, both role specific and general accreditation
• The ACSA Accreditation Program:
o ACSA Certificate IV in Financial Services (Custody)
o ACSA Diploma in Financial Services (Custody)
• Compliance training
• French language lessons
We also offer all staff access to our Holistic Manager suite of programs. These programs are clustered under four categories:
• Managing Yourself
• Managing Others
• Managing the Organisation
• Managing Clients
There is a range of programs within each of these categories, all of which have been designed and customised for BNP Paribas, and which are offered inhouse.
Leadership Development
Our senior executive team participates in a range of leadership development activities which includes an intensive development program followed by performance coaching. Our executives are also offered development opportunities at the BNP Paribas global training centre in Louveciennes, near Paris.
Tertiary Education
At BNP Paribas we also encourage staff to undertake tertiary study, where appropriate, to broaden their skills in their current roles and to provide for career progression. For this reason, staff are supported while studying and rewarded on achievement of their qualification.
